This is one I will keep doing for as long as I can!! Alan and I have been travelling together for a couple of years now - since we turned 40! So far we have travelled to Venice, Rome, Edinburgh and Copenhagen.
Alan is a football coach and travels all around the world in his work, so I always love the chance to go away just the two of us. We'd obviously love for the boys to come as well, but they'll hopefully get a chance to travel with their own wives!
#1 - Venice - March 2016
We went to Italy for our 40th birthdays - mine is in February and Alan's is in May. We started in Venice where we walked, went on boats galore, including a gondola ride, and even went to see an opera - it was a mix of famous operatic songs rather than a whole opera but it was amazing! #2 - Rome - March 2016
Rome is somewhere I've always wanted to go and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited the Trevi fountain, the Colosseum, the Vatican and lots of other fabulous sites. I even got a sneaky picture of the amazing art work in the Sistine Chapel!
#3 - Edinburgh - April 2017
The next trip was to Edinburgh - the capital of our neighbour Scotland. We walked and walked and walked!!! Edinburgh is beautiful. We visited the castle and lots of famous Edinburgh sites, enjoying Pizza Hut for lunch and even added a visit to a Comedy Club one evening!
#4 - Copenhagen - March 2018
Our final trip so far was to Copenhagen. It was beautiful - and a bit colder than our other Easter trips! We walked everywhere again, enjoyed seeing the colourful houses and the changing of the guard at the palace. We saw the house Hans Christian Anderson lived in, and most importantly I got my first pair of Sketchers!

So the year after this trip I had to go on a trip with one of the boys, and then COVID hit so we haven't been able to get away again, but we will soon. Fingers crossed!
